Alex is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia. She holds a BASc in Chemical Engineering, and a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Toronto, and completed her postdoctoral training in Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She joined UBC and started LoFI in 2024.
Surabhi Pandey is a postdoctoral associate in the Mechanical Engineering department at UBC. She earned her PhD at McGill University. Her research is focussed on developing sustainable processes for the production of polyester fabrics. A list of her publications can be found here.
Charlotte is an MAP candidate, co-supervised by Holly Caggiano, in UBC’s School of Regional and Community Planning’s PLACE Lab. Charlotte’s research is centred on uncovering citizen-led pathways that can accelerate the implementation of sustainable infrastructure. Charlotte holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from UBC.
Karan is an MASc candidate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at UBC. Karan’s research is focussed on up-cycling wastes from oil sands processing into value-added products. Karan holds a BASc in Materials Engineering from UBC.
Jamie is a an MASc candidate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at UBC. She conducts research on solar-driven carbon dioxide capture and conversion systems, at the intersection of engineering and public policy. She holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from UBC.
Haydon is an MASc candidate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at UBC. His research is focussed on the design of solar-driven air conditioning systems. He holds a BEng in Energy Systems Engineering from Oregon State University.
Golsa is an undergraduate research assistant in LoFI. Her research is focussed on financial policies that can encourage the adoption of circular economy processes. She is currently in her 3rd year of her BASc studies in Chemical Engineering at UBC.
